Dubbo Wedding | Claire & Daniel

What a wedding! Claire and Dan’s wedding was good for the soul. If I had to choose one word to describe it, I would have to say FUN.

Claire and Dan were married at St Brigid’s in Dubbo. Family, fun and love were the three things that shone through in every aspect of the day. Claire arrived at the church in the Big Red Party Bus, choosing to travel with not just her bride squad (The most amazing bride squad! Loved working with you ladies), but also her family, including her nieces and nephews. “They’re a huge part of our life, why should our wedding day be any different?” The bus was full of laughter and positive vibes. Claire was such a laid back, happy and easy going bride with a smile that truly lit up the room.

Their three children were part of their ceremony and the importance of family was reiterated. Their eldest son stood beside Dan as his best man, and their two younger kids were flower girl and page boy.

Following the ceremony, Claire and Dan stayed at St Brigid's for their photos and to enjoy canapés with their loved ones, before heading into their reception, also at St Brigid’s. Breaking the mould a little, Claire and Dan got straight into the cake cutting and bridal waltz. Then the dance floor was open! And dance they did. It’s not often I see a dance floor so full. Live music kept the crowd entertained, and the kids stole centre stage. Dinner and speeches followed, and then more dancing.

Claire soon changed into her party dress, showing off her amazing hot pink rollies. Did I mention this wedding was fun?

Tara and her team at Taylormade Weddings and Events did an amazing job with the flowers, decorations, and coordination of the whole day.

I truly loved every moment. Congratulations Claire and Dan. Thanks for having us as part of your day x

Port Stephens Wedding Part 2 | Tamara & James

Tamara & James finally got the photoshoot that was always meant to be. After Covid postponing their wedding, not once, but TWICE, it was third time lucky. They were getting married, rain, hail or shine - and rain it did! It was torrential, with no breaks in the rain to duck outside.

So, a couple of weeks after their wedding at the amazing Port Stephens venue (see those photos here), The Anchorage, I met with James and Tamara to take some gorgeous sunset beach photos. They got dressed up again (what a bonus, Tamara got to wear her gorgeous Grace Loves Lace gown for a second time!) and Tamara did a fabulous job doing her own hair and makeup.

We were blessed with everything during this shoot: incredible golden light, a stunning sunset (look at those colours) and some dolphins even came out to play, all capped off perfectly with a beautiful big moon. The moonlight shimmering on the water was perfection!

These two had been through so much to get to their wedding day, but always managed stay so positive despite everything that was thrown at them. I was so glad to be able to do this shoot for them as a little addition to the beautiful indoor/under cover portraits we got on their wedding day. They absolutely deserved it!

The Anchorage Port Stephens Wedding | Tamara & James

Third time lucky…mostly.

Tamara and James waited so long for their special day. Their wedding plans were halted in 2020 by Covid, with NSW implementing the 5 person limit on weddings less than four days before their original wedding. They rescheduled their special day, only to have Covid see them need to postpone their wedding for a SECOND time, choosing to delay their special day AGAIN to ensure they could have their family and friends with them to celebrate. Throughout all of this, Tamara handled everything with grace and poise.

Finally, on their third attempt, the wedding day was here. Rain, hail or shine, Tamara and James were FINALLY getting married. And rain it did! They say rain on your wedding day brings you luck. Well, these two had certainly had their share of bad luck, and now “luck” poured down on them.

Their outdoor ceremony on the waterfront at the gorgeous Anchorage in Port Stephens was moved indoors. The venue was stunning, and all of their guests squeezed in along with the string duo. Stunning floral arrangements by A Beautiful Occasion were the perfect addition to create a gorgeous backdrop for their ceremony.

Surrounded by the family and loved ones that were so important to them, Julie Muir delivered the perfect ceremony, with laughs, tears and a whole lot of love. And let’s not forget, the fishing reel in lieu of a wedding band.

With no break in the weather, we headed to The Anchorage’s gorgeous bar and other undercover areas for a few pictures, before rejoining their guests. There was live music throughout their reception, with a vey special performance from Tamara’s brother.

The whole day was filled with so much love and the importance of family was clearly felt, right down to the wedding cake - a collection of cakes made by family and friends.

I couldn’t have been happier to see these two finally get their special day after all their waiting. However, after all they’d been through (and the weather being so perfect for their first two dates), it didn’t seem right for Tamara and James to miss getting their beach photos. I was so excited they accepted our offer to meet a couple of weeks later for a wedding session on the beach.
